Concrete driveways go grey. The colour flattens out, oil marks sink in, and after ten years the slab looks tired even though there’s nothing structurally wrong with it.
Pave Cover puts the colour back and then protects it. Water-based polyurethane, tinted, satin finish, and it holds its colour under Australian sun instead of fading out over a couple of summers.
This is the one that matters on a driveway. Cheaper acrylic paving paints soften under a hot tyre and lift when the car pulls away — you end up with bare patches wherever people park. Pave Cover doesn’t do that. It’s why we built it on polyurethane instead of acrylic.

It’s a coating, not a waterproofing membrane. If you need water stopped rather than shed — a balcony over a living space, a planter box — that’s Liquid Lastic PU-991, not this.
31 colours matched to AS 2700, so they line up with Colorbond roofing and fencing. Charcoal, Monument, Surfmist, Woodland Grey and Basalt are what most people take for driveways.
A 15 L bucket covers up to 80 m² at 120 µm. That’s on smooth, sealed concrete. Bare or porous slabs drink more — allow 15 to 20 percent on top.

Keep the cars off it for seven days. It’s touch-dry in hours, and you can walk on it the next day, but a water-based polyurethane keeps hardening for a week. Park on it on day three and you’ll press tyre marks into a floor that would have been fine on day eight. This is the single most common reason people ring us about a driveway.
Four hours between coats. In a Melbourne winter, on a shaded south-facing slab, give it longer — cold, damp concrete slows the cure right down. Recoating too early traps water in the film and softens it.

Clean, dry, and free of anything that stops adhesion — oil, old sealer, loose material, curing compound. Pressure wash and degrease oil spots properly rather than hoping the paint covers them.
Etching is not optional. Bare concrete looks porous, but the surface layer is usually closed off — laitance from the finishing trowel, or a curing compound sprayed on when the slab was poured. Paint sits on top of that instead of gripping into it.
ConEtch opens the surface up.
Dilute one part ConEtch to three parts water. Wet the slab first, then apply, agitate with a stiff broom, and leave it 10 minutes. Rinse thoroughly until the run-off runs clear, then let the slab dry completely before you go any further.
ConEtch is acidic. Wear gloves and eye protection, and rinse any splashes off skin straight away. Keep the run-off out of garden beds and stormwater drains.
Tip a little water onto the slab in several spots.
If it soaks in within a minute or so and darkens the concrete, the surface is open, and you’re ready to coat.
If it still beads up and sits there, the etch hasn’t got through. That means a heavy sealer or a hard-trowelled finish, and acid won’t touch either — the slab needs mechanical grinding.
Test in several places. Driveways are rarely uniform; the section under the carport is often sealed while the exposed part isn’t.
Once the slab is dry, rub your hand firmly across it. If it comes away chalky, or the surface crumbles under a screwdriver, the concrete is loose and powdery — usually weak, over-watered concrete or a slab that’s weathered badly.
Paint won’t fix that. It will stick to the powder, and the powder will let go.
A loose or powdery slab needs PRIMIT E6-111 first. It soaks into the surface and binds it back together so Pave Cover has something solid underneath. Sound, dense concrete doesn’t need it.
Paint over a slab that fails these checks, and it will peel, and it won’t be the paint’s fault.
